EXPLORING PLASTBAU’S EIFS/ETICS: A JOURNEY THROUGH INNOVATION
Welcome to PLASTBAU ARABIA CO. LTD., your go-to source for high-quality EIFS systems. EIFS, or Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems, are a type of cladding system used in commercial and residential buildings to provide insulation, durability, and a decorative finish.
PLASTBAU’s EIFS is an innovative building system that offers a range of benefits to both the builder and the end user. The system is designed to provide superior thermal efficiency, soundproofing, and protection from the elements. It is also designed to be lightweight and easy to install, making it an excellent choice for any construction project.
This system is designed to reflect heat away from the building in the summer, preventing the building from becoming too hot, and preserving heat in the building during the winter, providing energy efficiency and cost savings. In addition, it helps to keep moisture out of the building, reducing the risk of mold and other moisture-related issues.
PLASTBAU ARABIA CO. LTD. is proud to offer top-of-the-line EIFS products that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Our EIFS systems are suitable for a wide range of applications, including new construction, renovation, and retrofitting.
WHAT ARE PLASTBAU® EIFS INSULATION?
The EIFS system is composed of multiple layers, typically including an insulation material board, a base coat, a fiberglass reinforcing mesh, and a finish coat, which work together to form the cladding. The insulation board is made from expanded polystyrene (EPS), which is lightweight and provides excellent insulation properties.
The base coat is typically a cementitious material that is applied over the insulation board to provide a strong, durable base for the reinforcing mesh. The reinforcing mesh is a fiberglass mesh that is embedded in the layer of base coat to provide additional strength and durability to the system.
Finally, the finish coat is a decorative layer that can be customized to suit the design needs of the building. EIFS finishes can range from smooth to textured, and can be painted in a wide range of colors to achieve the desired look.
BENEFITS OF PLASTBAU® EIFS INSULATION?
EIFS or ETICS (External Thermal Insulation Composite System) are building envelope systems that provide a range of benefits, including:
- Energy Efficiency: EIFS systems provide superior insulation, reducing energy consumption and lowering heating and cooling costs.
- Weather Resistance: EIFS systems provide an additional layer of protection against weather elements, including rain, wind, and snow. They are also resistant to mold, mildew, and other forms of moisture damage.
- Aesthetic Appeal: EIFS systems are highly customizable and come in a variety of colors, textures, and finishes, allowing for a variety of design options.
- Durability: EIFS systems are very durable and can withstand extreme weather conditions, as well as wear and tear from daily use.
- Cost-effectiveness: EIFS systems are relatively affordable compared to other building envelope systems, making them an attractive option for builders and property owners.
- Environmental friendliness: EIFS systems are energy-efficient, which means they reduce carbon emissions and help preserve the environment.
- Sound Insulation: EIFS systems can help reduce noise pollution, creating a more peaceful and comfortable living environment.
- Versatility: EIFS systems can be applied to almost any type of building, including residential, commercial, and industrial properties. They can also be used on a variety of surfaces, including concrete, masonry, and wood.
- Reduced Maintenance: EIFS systems require little maintenance, making them a long-term cost-effective option. Any repairs that are needed can be easily addressed.
- Improved Indoor Air Quality: EIFS systems are designed to be breathable, which helps prevent moisture build-up and improves indoor air quality. This is particularly important for people with allergies or respiratory issues.
- Code Compliance: EIFS systems are compliant with building codes and regulations, ensuring that the building is safe and up to code.
- Improved Property Value: Installing EIFS systems can increase the value of a property, as they provide a range of benefits and enhance the appearance and functionality of the building.
- Improved Thermal Comfort: EIFS systems can help regulate indoor temperatures, creating a more comfortable living or working environment.
PLASTBAU ® EIFS INSTALLATION SERVICES
In addition to providing high-quality EIFS products, we also offer professional installation services to ensure that your system is installed correctly and efficiently. Our installation team is highly trained and experienced, and we use only the latest installation techniques and equipment to ensure that your EIFS system is installed to the highest quality and durability standards.
The installation of EIFS involves several steps, which are outlined below:
1) Preparation: The surface to which the EIFS will be applied must be clean, sound, and free of any loose or deteriorated material. This may involve power washing, scraping, or sandblasting the surface to remove any debris or contaminants.
2) Installation of the Insulation Board: The insulation board is then installed over the prepared surface using adhesive, and mechanical fasteners. The insulation board must be installed in a staggered pattern to ensure maximum insulation coverage.
3) Application of the Base Coat: A cementitious base coat is applied over the insulation board using a trowel, which is then reinforced with a fiberglass mesh to provide additional strength and stability to the system.
4) Application of the Finish Layer: Once the base coat has cured, a finish coat is applied to the surface of the EIFS system to provide the desired appearance. This can be done using a variety of techniques, such as spray, trowel, or roller application.
5) Sealant Application: Sealants are applied at all terminations, penetrations, and joints to prevent water infiltration and air leakage.
6) Curing: The EIFS system is allowed to cure for a specified period of time, depending on the specific materials used and the climate conditions.
7) Final Inspection: Once the EIFS system has cured, a final inspection is conducted to ensure that the system has been installed according to Plastbau Arabia Co. Ltd.’s specifications and meets local building codes.
